Times have changed - when Delavan Ace Hardware opened in 1975, it was the biggest store in town. That's not the case any longer - competitors within a mile or so of us now include Lowes, Wal Mart, Tractor Supply, First Supply, Fastenal, Shop Ko, Barker Lumber, Sears, Auto Zone and others. Pretty competitive for a town of only around 8,000!

Still, over 100,000 times a year, folks shop at Delavan Ace Hardware. Why?

Well, for starters, we have a great store in a convenient location. We also have a knowledgeable friendly staff - we probably know over half our customers by their names. We're able to offer competitive prices because we're affiliated with Ace Hardware - a buying cooperative with over 4,500 other independently owned stores. Finally, we don't sell junk. If you're looking for a set of six screwdrivers for ninety-nine cents or a $5 gallon of paint, you'll have to shop elsewhere. We stock only well-made products - in a variety of prices ranges to suit most budgets.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that just because a big-box store is bigger that it has a better product selection and lower prices. The big-box stores are bigger because they stock a lot of products we don't - lumber, plywood, doors, windows, refrigerators, cabinets, roof shingles, etc. They don't carry more plumbing fittings or electrical switches. We have an extensive selection of products in our core departments - one of the most extensive in the area. As a matter of fact, our competitors often send folks over to us because they don't have some of the products we do.

We are an authorized sales and service dealer for Stihl, Toro and Lawnboy outdoor power equipment. We are also a full-line paint store within a store. We feature top names like Benjamin Moore, Ace, Cabot, Olympic, Purdy, Zinsser and others.. We also stock one of the largest selections of Weber outdoor grills, parts and accessories in the area.
